ADKIRAGH TUMET is a Final Fantasy XIV original character — he is most often played as a non-Warrior of Light character. A young man of the Steppe, Adkiragh was born with a diminutive size and skinny frame which made him a frequent target of ridicule and bullying in his tribe. He did, however, have an abnormal amount of fire-aspected aether in his person; he always ran a few degrees warm without actually running a fever. He was not expected to live through his trial as a Tumet and earn his name, and he very nearly didn't. He spent almost a day and a half tied to a tree in the grasslands, sinking into despair and dehydration as he nearly broke his body attempting to get loose from the ropes. On the cusp of unconsciousness, his fire-aspected aether activated in a self-preservation instinct, setting the ropes ablaze. He escaped from them, though it left many burn scars across his chest and upper arms. He found his way to water and then to home, where his startled tribe met him and his overjoyed mother named him "Adkiragh," which in their dialect of Xaelic meant "burned one."

Adkiragh's ability with fire magic continued to make itself known from the day of his naming onward, though he always struggled to control it. This put him always with contention with his tribe, as they began to notice that small, accidental fires were occurring around him with strange frequency. Adkiragh ended up leaving his tribe around age seventeen; if asked, he would reply that he left to seek out Eorzea, where he heard there were many schools of magic to help him gain knowledge and control over his gift. Though this is the truth, it is only part of it — the other part being that he was spurred to leave by his much-beloved younger brother not returning from his own trial several weeks before his own departure.

It takes Adkiragh a little more than a year to work up the money necessary for a trip to Eorzea, and he arrives nearly nineteen years old, fresh-faced and culture-shocked. Many kind and helpful individuals helped him to Ul'dah, where he found the Thaumaturges' Guild. There he studies thaumaturgy, and though he has great skill at manipulating fire, his ability with ice magic... leaves much to be desired.

This young Au Ra is a warm and energetic boy with a good heart, though he's not exactly the sharpest arrow in the quiver.
